Refinishing keeps the cabinet boxes and doors you already have and changes the finish on them. How the job runs in an Irvine home
Doors and drawer fronts come off and are labelled, hinges and hardware are bagged per door, and everything goes to the shop. The boxes are masked and done in place. Doors are degreased, sanded, stained and top-coated flat, then left to cure before they are hung - cabinet finishes fail because someone rushed the cure, not because of the stain. A 30-door kitchen is normally four to six working days, and you keep the use of the kitchen for most of it.
